Johnson C. Smith University Makes Beyonce Welcome Video
NEW ORLEANS, LA - FEBRUARY 03: Kelly Rowland, Beyonce and Michelle Williams perform during the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on February 3, 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
When Queen Bey gets to the Queen City to perform her Renaissance World Tour, she’ll be welcomed by thousands of fans but none likely as welcoming as students at Johnson C. Smith University. They created a video in her honor.
The concert takes place at Bank of America Stadium on Wednesday (August 9th). It’s Beyonce’s first solo tour in six years. And because of that Charlotte’s only HBCU released a welcome video specially themed for Beyonce. The Charlotte Observer reports school officials say they wanted to welcome Queen Bey to the Queen City. And to let her know that faculty, staff, students, and alumni of JCSU not only admire her as an artist, but the way in which she and her family inspire the world and communities like Johnson C. Smith.
The video includes students, staff, faculty, and alumni who came together on campus to create the video which includes some of Beyonce’s biggest hits.
