Calm in The Storm
While the storms of life rage on and difficulties appear, never forget the story of Jesus sleeping on the boat during the storm. This creates such a profound imagery when you think about it.  Have you ever been stuck on rough waters?  Fear will tell you the boat is about to capsize.  Anxiety will throw your mind into a spiral of what ifs.  You begin to dread the worst and imagine yourself doggy paddling in cold waters losing body heat by the minute.  With all the realities churning around in your thoughts, remember Jesus slept.

The Bible is so beautiful in how it details learning lessons for us to adopt.  During a crazy storm at sea, Jesus was sleeping while everyone else panicked:

Mark 4:38-40, “Jesus was inside the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow. The followers went and woke him. They said, “Teacher, don’t you care about us? We are going to drown!” Jesus stood up and gave a command to the wind and the water. He said, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind stopped, and the lake became calm. He said to his followers, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?

Next time your are challenged with a storm remember Jesus.  Stay calm.  Call out to God and keep your peace.  We serve a mighty God who can conquer all.  The battle is already won.  This is spiritual warfare at it’s finest.  Give it all to God.  Remain Calm in the Storm.
This week’s word: Calm
This week’s activity:  Journal moments and circumstances that you know personally create a stir of anxiety and fear in your.  The first step is for you to realize these situations are real in your life.  Then ask God it intervene in giving you the clarity to see them in advance and prepare for them.  Put a plan of action together that will keep you calm, reserved and faithful, like Jesus.
Be Blessed.
