Billion Dollar baby weekend in Charlotte
Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden announced he is closing Jail North in December because of staffing shortage at the main jail uptown. Lake Norman beach now open during the week for summer, There will be 23 Juneteenth celebrations in the Charlotte area this weekend, including the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas its a free, multi-cultural celebration that’s in its 25th year. It will take place at House of Africa, in Plaza Midwood.
