Holy Cow! 80 Cows Were Onboard an Overturned Tractor in Winston-Salem
Holy Cow! This is some terrible and hilarious news. Just when I think I have read it all, something like this happens in good old Winston-Salem. Around 4:05 a.m. a tractor-trailer carrying 80 cows overturned in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 52, near I-40.
According to WXII 12, As a result of the crash, authorities said about 10 cows escaped into the Waughtown and Old Lexington neighborhoods and it took several crews hours to corral the cattle. Those cows are my heros. One cow remains on the loose, as of 10:30 a.m.
The lone cow is believed to be roaming the Peachtree Street area. Anyone who sees the cow is asked to call the WSPD non-emergency line at 336-773-7700. If you see this cow make sure to also congraulate it on its escape. This cow is the most wanted animal in North Carolina and I love it.
First responders from the Winston-Salem Fire Department, a large animal rescue team, emergency management, Winston-Salem police and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol assisted in the incident. Officials told WXII 12 News that the livestock was traveling from Norwood to be sold. You can see more on the story here.
