Given the world's current climate, wouldn't it be nice to have one day when we all experience something kind? Well, doughnut maker Krispy Kreme has answered the call and will give out free donuts to celebrate World Kindness Day.
World Kindness Day is Monday, November 13. Krispy Kreme says the first 500 people to visit one of its participating locations that day will receive a dozen free original glazed donuts. The company announced in a news release it is to inspire and enable kindness to others.
Global Chief Brand Officer Dave Skena says, “World Kindness Day is an opportunity to make a positive difference by being generous – from paying it forward to meaningfully connecting with each other. Simple gestures of caring and thanks, including sharing a sweet treat, is a great way to do that.”
Donut lovers will not have to make a purchase to claim their free treat. They are saying the idea is to share the love of giving and he hopes that a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts will inspire others to offer acts of kindness.
Krispy Kreme operates in more than 30 countries. Many of those will offer the same or similar promotions during World Kindness Day. Donut lovers are encouraged to show how they share kindness by using #KrispyKreme and tagging @krispykreme on social media.

3 Most Popular South Carolinian Desserts You Should Know
If you're anything like me then you're a sweet kind of person. I love desserts, sugary treats, and all of that all the time. My sweet tooth is beyond strong and is always calling my name. Whenever I am craving something sweet, it's pretty hard to determine what I want. From cookies to ice cream to baked goods, they are all so good. But, being from South Carolina there are some treats that are just a staple for us to know.
Taste Atlas is giving us the three most popular South Carolinian desserts you should know. These are three, but I know there are a few more to add to this list. My aunt has taught me many things and baking some of our favorite recipes that have been passed down is one of the best things. If you do not know any of these treats, then you are missing out. Check out some popular desserts famous in South Carolina that you 100% need to know.
Huguenot Torte
A favorite from Charleston is the Huguenot Torte treat. This is a baked apple and pecan or walnut pudding cake with crispy meringue topping and served with whipped cream. Taste Atlas says this is a pretty recent recipe for the Charleston base. The recipe first showed up in the 1950s in a cookbook and began to blow up shortly after.
Benne Wafers
Now this is a great one for sure! Benne Wafers is a traditional American cookie coming straight out of Charleston. Made up of a great combo of butter, sugar, flour, eggs, baking powder, and benne. Benne is the Bantu word for sesame seeds. They are a cookie dated back years and years and are now a treat that tourists can enjoy when visiting.
Lady Baltimore Cake
Now, this may be a new one for me. The Lady Baltimore Cake is Taste Atlas No. 1 South Carolina dessert. I have personally never heard of or had this which is kind of crazy being from Charleston. This famous cake was created by two women who ran Charleston's Lady Baltimore Tea Room. The cake is several layers of white sponge cake and a rich marshmallow-like frosting mixed with chopped nuts and dried fruits.
