It was once the 'Go-To' spot for uptown Charlotte nightlife. Crowds went there for CIAA parties, the Democratic National Convention and NBA All-Star Game events. But, now the Epicentre is close to foreclosure.

The Charlotte Observer reports the three-story entertainment complex in the center of uptown at 210 E. Trade Street went into receivership this week after defaulting on its $85 million loan. So far, it is not clear just how much the foreclosure will impact the Epicentre and its businesses.

Though it looks abandoned, a little over 30% of the tenant spaces are occupied based on the Epicentre website.
