Meanwhile, there are some in the community who are calling for change. Organizers of the Juneteenth Liberation Drive Thru are holding a press conference (Monday, June 22 @ 4pm) to discuss the recent violence off Beatties Ford Road. The organizers are made up of various community groups in the Historic West End corridor and want to move forward and advance the priorities of the area following the violence.
The Juneteenth Liberation Drive Thru organizers held a peaceful Juneteenth celebration last Friday, June 19 that are not related to Sunday’s violence.
