Charlotte homeowner Tyler Wilson says police used his home in a deadly standoff. It started out as a normal afternoon in the Shannon Park neighborhood, but quickly turned into an all-out shootout that left eight police officers wounded - four of them fatally.

WBTV reports officers went to a home on Galway Drive Monday to serve a warrant to a suspect wanted on firearms charges. As officers approached the home, the suspect began firing from inside the home. Authorities returned fire, killing the suspect. Another round of shots came from inside the home. A standoff ensued until police later detained two individuals from inside the home. In the end, three U.S. Marshals were killed, and one Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer. Four other officers are recovering from injuries.

Wilson had a front row view of all the drama. In an interview with WBTV, he described the scene at his home similar to a takeover. He says dozens of law enforcement officers used his home and his backyard during the shootout.

He says officers were crawling through his backyard, hiding behind trees and jumping over bushes. He explained one of the officers whom he thought was a sniper used his window. And he says he even saw one officer get dragged by another inside his home, apparently after getting injured.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist the families of law officers killed or wounded during the shootout. CLICK HERE for more information.
