One of the biggest challenges in Charlotte for event planners can be finding that perfect space that is affordable.  Well, a new Black-owned venue will offer 'premiere' rental space.

SPACES by Premier is up and running in east Charlotte. It is the brainchild of Martez Prince. He told QCity Metro it is a venue designed for creativity and community events. It is his hope the space will inspire and support local entrepreneurs, like Prince himself. Prince also owns a nearby pharmacy and wellness center (Premier Pharmacy and Wellness Center) and is the founder of a nonprofit (Premier Foundation of North Carolina).

He says SPACES is an acronym for Social and Professional Areas for Creative Events and Services. He says being able to inspire other businesses was the motivation for his vision.

SPACES is located at 3010 Monroe Road, Suite 203. It is a 3,000-square-foot space with exposed beams and high ceilings. It is a 'blank' canvas for those with a creative edge.  Prince says is an all-in-one space for private event rentals that can range from cocktail parties, pop-ups, networking events, corporate meetings, and even wedding receptions.

The foyer is described as a holding space for guests that features pre-event cocktails or networking capabilities for guests before they enter the main space. It has a 150-person capacity or can accommodate 100 people for a seated dinner. Prince says there may be room for live music events or podcasts. Prince says overall, SPACES is multi-purpose and multifunctional.

Rental rates are $150 per hour for the venue, with a minimum of three hours. Weekend rates have the same minimum but for $300 per hour. Tables and chairs are included with all rentals. For an entire weekend day, the space costs $2,400. The venue also includes two projectors and a “plug-and-play” sound system so creativity is not limited.

It appears Prince thought of it all.
