Here’s Where You Can Find The Best Nachos In North Carolina & South Carolina

Happy National Nachos Day y’all! As if we need an excuse, today is a great day to indulge in your favorite Tex-Mex dish.  But where to go to really optimize the holiday?  Here’s where you can find the best nachos in North Carolina and South Carolina.

What exactly defines a nacho? According to the Google machine, as my mom used to call it, nacho is a Mexican dish consisting of tortilla chips, smothered with cheese, meats, vegetables, salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.  If you want to be super basic nachos could merely be covered with cheese and you could call it a day.  But who wants to stop there?

Just doing research for you guys on this, it made me hungry. I am a carb, meat, and cheese girl all day long.  Pile it on and pile it on thick.  Here are a few suggestions from the experts on where you can find the best nachos in North Carolina and South Carolina.

According to mashed.com you can find the best nachos at Raleigh Times Bar in Raleigh, North Carolina. They site the velvety molten cheese and fresh ingredients and the variety. You can get barbecue nachos or ones topped with chicken or pork.

In South Carolina, check out Queology in Charleston. According to mashed.com they use “incredibly” fresh ingredients and build a towering glory and meats and cheeses. They are dripping with coleslaw and barbecue sauce.  That’s different! While primarily it’s known for barbecue apparently their nachos are the bomb.

Places to Get Nachos in Charlotte for National Nachos Day

Did you know there is such a thing as National Nacho Day? I know, there is pretty much a holiday for just about any and everything. How great is that when it comes to food? National Nachos Day happens every year on November 6 and what better way to celebrate than eating some nachos? This year will be my first National Nachos Day in Charlotte so why not spend the day experiencing some cool, new places with nachos?

I decided to compose a list of some places that seem to have the best nachos. I will not tell you that these are the greatest nachos ever, because honestly I have not eaten everywhere on this list. But, I will say these spots have great photos that make me want to head there and try out some nachos. So, if you have ever been to any of these places or have others in mind, share them with us!   • Sabor Latin Street Grill

    Now this one I have heard is not everyone’s favorite, but I enjoy it. I have been here a few times and the food is pretty good to me. If you decide to head to Sabor for National Nachos Day, you will get the chance to enjoy either Especial Nachos or Sabor Nachos. Of course, you can remix things and build as you go but these are the two special nachos on the menu.

  • Hot Taco

    Now, here is another spot I have been to and there is no way you can tell me this should not be on the list. I truly enjoy Hot Taco. From the food to the drinks to the music, it is the perfect spot to enjoy some great nachos on National Nachos Day. Try out their nacho bowl and get it loaded with your favorite protein between roasted chicken, ground beef, or steak.

  • Greystone Pub

    Time to switch it up a bit. Head to Greystone Pub and enjoy one of their flavorful nachos as a nice munchie on their appetizer menu. They are serving up Greek Nachos and Triple S! Nachos on their menu. The Greek Nachos is served up with a spicy tzatziki and the Triple S! Nachos have stoner chicken, cheddar, and pinapeno salsa. Yummy!

  • The Improper Pig

    Get a little crazy and try out these unique nachos. The Improper Pig is serving up none other than, improper nachos. Who would have thought? The improper nachos include their house made salt and vinegar chips with pimento cheese and scallions and your choice of meat between pulled chicken, pulled pork, smoked tofu, or brisket. I don’t know about you, but this one is sounding pretty good to me.

  • Moo & Brew

    Okay, now this is a spot that I have not been to but I have been dying to go to. Moo & Brew has some great options on their menu and now I know, they even have nachos. But not just any nachos, they have nacho fries. Hmm, sounds right up my alley! Their nacho fries include chili, brew cheese, tomato, red onions, black beans, jalapeno, green onions, and sour cream on top of some crispy fries. Talk about the perfect treat.

  • Three Amigos Mexican Kitchen & Cantina

    One last place I am going to suggest is Three Amigos, another place I may have never been but I am intrigued to go after looking over their menu. They are serving Nachos Supreme on their menu which you can also get as an appetizer size if needed. I would probably need for sure! The Nachos Supreme is an order or tortilla chips with your choice of protein topped with queso, bean, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeno, and queso freso. Whew! That would certainly put you down for a nap.
