Johnson C. Smith University Celebrate First Full Homecoming in Years
Johnson C Smith University hadn’t had a full-scale homecoming celebration since before the pandemic started but all of that changed this past weekend. If you have ever attended an HBCU or have ever been around an HBCU campus then you know how important homecoming is to the school and its alumni.
Head football coach Maurice Flowers, an alum himself, said “This is the first all-time week I’ve actually been a part of it,” he said. “As we tell our football team, homecoming is for alumni and the city and the school. It’s not for the football team except for the game.”
The city was flooded with events and alumni coming back home to celebrate the school they have so much pride in.
What homecoming are you excited about being able to go to?
