Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Need Public’s Help Finding Machete Attacker
When I heard about this story, I immediately thought “Where the hell did he get a machete?! And WHY does he have it?!” I think Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking some of the same questions after a man went on public transportation and cut two people with a machete.
Police say it happened on a CATS bus in southeast Charlotte Wednesday (February 3) afternoon. Police are actually looking for what they call ‘a person of interest’ who they say used a machete to stab two people. Both victims are doing okay.
After receiving community tips, CMPD has identified 22-year-old Jomorei Lamont Geddie as a person of interest. As of this writing, they continue to search for Geddie whom they want to question him about the incident.
The suspect is described as a black male who is approximately 5′7″ tall, thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket, beige pants, brown shoes, and a black mask over his face.
Anyone who knows where he may be should immediately call 9-1-1. Police urge community members to NOT approach him, as he could be potentially armed & dangerous.
