Gov. Roy Cooper Reports Today North Carolina COVID-19 Cases Now Skyrocketing
A press conference held today (10/15) by Governor Roy Cooper revealed that North Carolina is now having a surge of new COVID-19 cases. The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations continues to slowly increase in North Carolina putting us in the red zone from the White House virus report. As of today, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported 2,532 new COVID-19 cases, shattering the highest single-day increase since the first case was reported in March. Great…
North Carolina’s daily case count has been steadily trending upward since a low in mid-September and you can see more on the full report here. Some are now asking…was it a bad idea to go to Phase 3 for NC? But, Governor Roy Cooper said during this conference, “he doesn’t regret it, they moved to Phase 3 from the data that guided him and the best way to control the virus is by looking at the data.”
As Dr. Mandy Cohen, Secretary of Department of Health and Human Service stated in their live-stream report today, “no one wants to move backward, but we can get these trends under control.” If I am being honest, I am a bit optimistic but I hope we can all wash our hands, wear our masks, and help stop end the spread of COVID-19.
