Just In Time For The Holidays…World’s First Gender-Neutral Doll
Toymaker Mattel is staying up with the times and has created the world’s first gender-neutral doll — meaning the doll is made for either a girl or boy in it’s doll series called Creatable World.
It was carefully created to betray no obvious gender features. The lips aren’t too full, the eyelashes not too long, the jaw not too wide. There are no Barbie-like breasts or broad shoulders like a Ken doll.
Each doll is slim with short hair, but comes with a wig of long locks and a wardrobe. Wardrobe inlcudes hoodies, sneakers, graphic t-shirts in colors like green, yellow. There’s a tutu and camouflage pants, too.
Mattel is promoting the doll designed to “keep labels out and invite everyone in.” The doll runs for about $29.99.
