A Nationwide Recall On Frozen Shrimp Now Include Products Sold At Target and Whole Foods
If you’ve purchased any frozen shrimp products in the last year, you may want to take note. Federal authorities say more than two dozen shrimp products sold nationwide are being recalled in a salmonella outbreak and have now added retailers Target and Whole Foods.
The outbreak has make at least 9 people sick in four states. Three of them have been hospitalized. The Food and Drug Administration made the announcement Friday (August 13), but has since added Target and Whole Foods as retailers that carry the product to the list.
The say the recalled food includes several brands of frozen cooked, peeled and deveined shrimp and some sold with cocktail sauce. The food was distributed nationwide from November 2020 to May 2021. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the food could have been sold in stores even more recently.

Consumers are warned to check their freezers for the shrimp and throw away or return any of the recalled products.
