100+ United House Of Prayer Members Test Positive For COVID-19
Health experts warn it is NOT a good idea to ‘gather’ no matter if it’s with family or a religious event. A recent event at United House of Prayer for All in Charlotte has ended with several positive COVID cases. Mecklenburg County Public Health officials say more than 100 people who attended the convocation at the church have now tested positive for COVID-19.
The convocation events happened Oct. 4 -11 in Charlotte. Included in that number of COVID-19 cases, are a cluster of six cases at an independent living facility. Staff at the facility says residents at Madison Saints Paradise South Independent Living have all been tested for COVID-19. At least four have been hospitalized and two have died.
Public Health officials say they have attempted to reach several who were in close contact those confirmed with COVID. Those who have received a message from a contact tracer, should call the contact tracing hotline at 980-314-9401.
Anyone who has been in contact with someone who attended the church events on Oct. 4 – 11 should get tested for COVID-19. If you have COVID-19 like symptoms, please avoid close contact with anyone.
