Big Sean Takes Shots At Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar
Big Sean took aim at Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole on his latest freestyle, “Anderson Estate.” The Detroit native flipped J Dilla’s beat for a slowed-down version of The Pharcyde’s “Drop.”
“I think where I lack most as an artist is consistency/ I just haven’t had the energy to compete with enemies,” he begins before calling out Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. “Or y’all so-called bigger three/ But every verse I lay, fans love to say, ‘Man, n—– is sleep!'”
Later in the track, he talks about his younger self.
“Sean, how long you knew you was finna win?/ How long you been plottin’ on M’s?/ Since before the TV show/ You was in the office and cutting off friends/ Since the POW chain setting trends, hold up/ How long you been plottin’ on a B?/ Since before you had a song with Jay?/ Since before you knew Jhene?,” he spits.
In the post, he shared that he is getting over being sick and decided to drop the freestyle. He also previewed something is brewing.
“Look i been in the crib getting over this food poisoning (Norovirus). i figured if Jordan can play in the Finals w/ food poisoning, least i can do is drop some bars! WE LETTING MORE FLY TOMORROW!!!” he wrote in the post.
What’s Next For Big Sean?
The last time Sean dropped a full-length project was in 2020, Detroit 2, a sequel to his fourth mixtape and a shoutout to his home city. The album featured guest appearances from Eminem, Young Thug, Post Malone, Lil Wayne, Diddy, Kash Doll, Nipsey Hussle, and more.
The album’s lead single, “Deep Reverence,” featuring the late Nipsey Hussle, was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
It’s possible that Sean is going to release a single tomorrow (March 21), as Fridays are popular release days in the industry.
