Fans React To Cardi B’s Opinion On 50/50 Split
“Cooking and cleaning is work tf,” one fan wrote in the comment section of the video.
One fan wrote that if the bills are 50/50 then the housework and taking care of the children should be too. “If both are working, then they both share duties equally in the household and with the children. The issue is some males don’t want to do their part with the children or in the household (cleaning and cooking) but want the woman to work, cook, clean, have the energy to be sexy and sexual, and contribute to the bills too. Make it make sense… ” they wrote.
They continued: “[A] majority of women out here don’t mind going 50/50 when it’s ACTUALLY 50/50!!! MOST Women out here are EXHAUSTED & therefore rather do it alone than to have the extra duties that come with being with a man. They feel like they doing it solo anyways…”
However, some fans agreed with Cardi, saying that the times have changed.
“I keep saying this ain’t the 90’s. It takes two incomes now days. Teamwork make the dream work,” one fan wrote.
Those comments ignited the internet, which is why the rapper doubled down on her point of view.
“I didn’t say women have to go 50-50 with a man,” she said in a — Gaggedcardi (@gaggedcardi) March 17, 2024?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new video. “And let me make this really clear, I wasn’t talking about my situation. Fortunately and I’m very grateful me and Offset we are practically part of the one percent. We don’t have to [follow regular relationship] rules or have regular bill s— that a lot of people experience because we are both rich. We both bought our home in Atlanta. We both went 50-50.”
She then spoke about how she grew up and how her parents were not rich, as her dad was a taxi driver and her mom was a cashier. The “Up” rapper compared it to her situation with Offset, where they both have their own properties as she has one in New Jersey and he has a condo in Miami, but as a couple, they have homes together like the Atlanta house as mentioned earlier and some investment properties.
“If you love somebody and you are in a situation you both should work hard together,” she said. “Would you leave somebody that you love because they are not financial stable? But you know that you guys can build and grow?”
