Cardi B Announces New Freestyle ‘Like What’
New Cardi B music is coming sooner than you might have thought. Her new freestyle “Like What” will drop Friday. A snippet of the song was released via a verified fan account Wednesday (Feb. 28).
“YA FOUND ME,” Cardi wrote across her socials alongside cover art for the track. “Like What freestyle FRIDAY.”
In the cover art, the rapper has dyed-pink eyebrows, with matching eyeshadow, lashes, and contacts. Her hand is covering one side of her face showing off her extra long white nails.

The snippet she released on Tuesday (Feb. 27) seemingly samples Missy Elliott‘s 1999 classic “She’s A Bitch.” The clip contains a short snippet of the new offering with hashtags #CardiCountdown and #WhereIsCardi.
Cardi B Starts Rollout For New Song With Fake “Missing” Posters
In the clip posted by the verified fan account, the caption read, “After the anonymous tip we believe we may have located Cardi B. Check in tomorrow for a special update,” signaling a possible release date for the song.
The as-yet-untitled song will follow Cardi’s 2023 “Bongos,” which featured Megan Thee Stallion. It was the only single that the Bronx native dropped that year.
Cardi B Explains Why She Hasn’t Dropped Her New Album
Cardi has been open about not dropping music with her fans despite the pleas for her sophomore album.
“When it comes to music and everything, I just be feeling like I don’t be liking anything,” she said back in December 2022 on Instagram Live. “I feel like I got so many songs and I don’t like anything. I feel like nothing is good enough… And I got so much money saved up I just be like, ‘Yeah, whatever the f—.'”
She added that the pressure from everyone commenting on what she does also plays a role, although she has decided to block it out and keep going.
“I used to love making music, but now, making music to me has become like a job that gives me anxiety,” Cardi B says in the video. “Everybody just critiques everything that I do, that it’s just like…you know, sometimes you just don’t want to do something that may give you that much anxiety. So I just be like, “Uh!” — freezing myself but I have to let that go. I have to release more music — I have to go out there.”
“Like What” is out Friday.
