Cardi B, Offset Home Swatted Last Summer
Cardi B and Offset were victims of home swatting, according to police body camera footage obtained by gossip site TMZ. Their home in Sandy Springs, Georgia, had a reported shooting when a person called the police saying that it was in the home of a “famous rapper” last summer. In the phone call, the person indicated that Cardi could be a victim of the shooting.
However, when police arrived at the house, they learned that the phone call was fake. Derrick Cephus, Offset’s uncle, was house-sitting at the time and told the police that the apparent phone call was not real and that the couple was not in the area. In the video, Offset is heard on the phone with his uncle while the couple is in Los Angeles. The Migos rapper was audibly upset with the police being at the house, but they ultimately wrote a report and left once it was realized there was no actual threat.
