Quavo Speaks On The Future Of The Migos In New Song
Even before Takeoff’s tragic death in November 2022, the future of the Migos was in doubt. The late Migos member and Quavo began forging their own path with the release of Only Built For Infinity Links under the monikers Unc & Phew. The 18-track LP arrived a month before Takeoff’s passing. Offset found himself venturing into a solo career after releasing “54321,” and “Code” featuring Moneybagg Yo. He had plans to release a solo album but pushed it back due to Takeoff’s sudden death.
Now, Quavo is answering a question that Migos fans have respectively been waiting to hear. Will Quavo and Offset continue the Migos? In a new song titled “Greatness” Quavo touches upon the future of the rap group.
“Never forget that the Migos amazin’/ Look at the ice and the knots in my pants, you know that them young n—– made it,” he raps over the DJ Durel produced beat.
However, further, into the song, Quavo finally speaks his piece on where the Migos are now and will be in the future: “Came in, swept the game like a storm with the muthaf—— flow, n—-, Take did that/ So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n—- it can’t come back, damn!”
In the song’s outro, Quavo gives a shoutout to Takeoff and Migos’ impact on the culture: “I couldn’t do it without the greatest group in the world … I couldn’t do it without the greatest nephew in the world.”
The accompanying music video features Quavo flexing his luxurious lifestyle but also sharing past footage with him and Takeoff.
Takeoff was shot and killed at a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston on Nov. 1. He attended the party with Quavo, gossip site TMZ first reported. Quavo was not injured during the incident. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims — a 23-year-old male and 24-year-old female — checked themselves into a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, per Billboard. It was later reported that the 23-year-old male victim was Quavo’s Assistant, Joshua ‘Wash’ Washington, per TMZ.
Takeoff’s alleged killer, Patrick Clark, has since been released on a $1 million bond. Clark’s next court date is scheduled for March 9.
