Looking for a getaway this winter? I know, this season has been pretty crazy for us all. The weather is up and down, back and forth between freezing and sort of warm. But, nonetheless, it is still technically winter so why not a vacation? North Carolina has a lot of mountain towns that would be perfect for a winter getaway. Can you think of a few places?

Now, you have more options to start planning a quick weekend trip now. Where should we go? Well, according to Shane Co., you should head to Banner Elk, Bryson City, or Asheville, North Carolina. To discover which towns were the best, Shane Co. used sources like U.S. News and World Report and Travel and Leisure. These three mountain towns are surely a great time. As someone who has been to Asheville quite a few times, it is one of the most beautiful mountain towns I have ever visited. The views, the snow, and the air just make winter and the cold feel even better.

  • Take a cooking class

    This has actually been something on my bucket list and I’m definitely going to try and plan this date. Here are two places that I’ve heard great things about in the Charlotte area.

  • Build a snowman

    This might be a little hard to do if you live in the metro Charlotte area. BUT there are plenty of driveable getaways from Charlotte that can make this a reality for you. Here are some of my favorite weekend (or even day) trips:

  • Go sledding

    If we’re being honest I can’t remember the last time I went sledding just because it snowed so much and that was an option. It’s been at least a decade. But, lucky for people now there are actual snow tubing and sledding spots all around North Carolina.
