North Carolina Town Opens Largest Skate Park
As parents, a lot of people say that there isn’t a lot for these kids to do other than play video games or be lazy by staying in the house and doing nothing. Well, the town of Mooresville had something to say about that as they officially opened a new $2.8 million skatepark facility on Saturday, December 3rd.
The new facility is located at 748 W. Iredell Avenue and is the largest skate park in the Carolinas. It has two bowls, an urban street course, a viewing area, and restrooms. “This new skatepark will attract visitors from across the region,” said Mayor Miles Akins. Every detail was designed by skaters for skaters.
Kids who may not necessarily like to play stick and ball sports, feel as if they have an outlet now. This is an alternative sport that a lot of teens and kids participate in that may not like playing basketball, baseball, football, or soccer. Kids from the area say they are excited because they no longer have to drive to Denver, NC just to skate legally.
