It's a scene parents don't ever want to witness. They don't want to see their child mistreated while in daycare. It happened at Tutor Time Daycare in Steel Creek in Charlotte.

According to WBTV, a parent Alyssa Stillwell recorded the live stream of her child's class after she saw a daycare worker hit a child with a ruler on their bottom. She reached out to the daycare and did not feel they took her complaint seriously. That's when she posted the video snippet to TikTok and Facebook.

So far, her posts have received thousands of views and comments. Several parents have pulled their kids out of the daycare and filed complaints with the state and police.

The recording appears to show a teacher grabbing children, hitting one child with a yardstick and pushing a child down and forcing him to cross his legs.

Stillwell says when she called Tutor Time, the director dismissed her concerns.

Tutor Time Comment

A spokesperson for Tutor Time told WBTV:

We take our responsibility as caregivers very seriously... Our staff are trained on our protocols of care, including positive behavior guidance and the redirection of children. They are expected to follow these policies consistently as well as upholding high standards of personal and professional conduct. We offer live streaming video as an extension of our open-door policy and commitment to transparency.

This employee is on leave as we’re partnering with state licensing in conducting a thorough review of this matter. We will take all appropriate steps based on the findings and will continue to work to address any concerns. Nothing is more important to us than our children’s well-being.

An official with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services says they are aware of the incident and "considering next steps."

Many parents say they want management to be held accountable. And they want the teacher involved not only on leave, but terminated.
