These Locations Offering FREE Masks Starting This Week In Greater Charlotte Area
With North Carolina continuing into Phase 2 of the NC Safer At Home Order, Mecklenburg County has joined with other organizations and the private sector in securing two million masks for residents in and around the Charlotte area. North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced recently that masking wearing in public is now mandatory along with social distancing by at least six feet.
Health officials have warned that COVID-19 cases are still on the rise and that the virus can be spread by people who do not have symptoms and do not know that they are infected. Wearing a mask may slow the spread of the virus by preventing people from transmitting it to others.
Masks are available at no cost thanks. Masks have been provided by the federal government, Atrium Health and several business leaders with the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council (CELC). See list below for masks.
