Trina Shares Video of Betty Wright Singing At Her Mother’s Funeral
As we previously reported, legendary R&B and soul singer Betty Wright recently passed at the age of 66 due to cancer. Many celebrities and fans of Wright have taken to social media to pay homage to the “Clean Up Woman” singer, including rapper Trina.
Last year, Trina’s mother passed away, and on Tuesday (May 12), Trina took to Twitter to share a private video of Betty Wright singing at the funeral, last year.
“Thank you, Ms. B. Me and my family will forever be grateful,” Trina tweeted. “RIP Betty Wright.” In the video, before singing, Wright can be seen explaining that a friend of hers who Wright said is a “beautiful songwriter” wrote a song that she was about to sing.
“Everything you taught me was a blessing. Thank you mother,” Wright sang. “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” As we previously reported, Trina’s mother, Vernessa “Ness” Taylor passed away from cancer at the age of 62, last September.
Betty Wright was mostly known for her hits, including “Tonight Is the Night,” “No Pain, (No Gain)” and “Clean Up Woman.”
