Novant Health Preparing To Resume Non-Emergency Patient Care
If you’re a Novant Health patient, and you’ve had a surgery or procedure postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, you should expect to hear from your doctor soon. WBTV reports that Novant Health will resume non-essential surgeries and procedures on Monday, May 4th.
In March, both Novant and Atrium Health halted all non-emergency surgeries as their staffs quickly pivoted to address the pandemic. Now Novant’s clinics will begin phasing in previously postponed appointments, starting with pediatric good checks, chronic disease, and acute issue visits.
According to the report, Novant will have enhanced safety and sanitation measures in place. They may also put a limit on the number of in-house patients and visitors to maintain social distancing guidelines. Providers serving patients are required to wear masks. Novant is also asking patients to bring their own cloth masks or face coverings to appointments. However, patients who do not have a mask will be given one.
