Meek Mill, DJ Khaled Performs Nipsey Hussle Grammy Tribute
Filmmaker Ava Duvernay introduced Meek Mill, Roddy Rich, DJ Khaled, YG, John Legend, and Kirk Franklin as the performers for the Nipsey Hussle Tribute at the 62nd annual Grammy awards.
Meek Mill opened up the performance wearing a “Nipsey Blue” suit with Roddy Ricch performing after him in one of the aisles.
YG stepped out on the stage wearing an all-red suit and a new haircut that was red with flames etched into it. YG’s shoes were “Nipsey Blue” although he rocked all red otherwise.
The choir wore all-white that was trimmed in gold, which Legend matched while he played the piano and sang the chorus of Nipsey Hussle and DJ Khaled’s single “Higher.”
Lauren London and Nipsey’s sister Samantha Smith were seen in the audience standing and clapping along to the performance as they watched on.
A photo of Nipsey Hussle appeared on the screen at the end of the performance, next to a photo of Kobe Bryant, who died in a fatal helicopter crash on Sunday, January 26 with his daughter, Gianna and 7 other passengers.
