No More Long Waits At DMV – New Measures Are In Place
COLOMBO, SRI LANKA - APRIL 27: Vehicles queue to be searched at a military security checkpoint as they arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport on April 27, 2019 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. More than 253 people were killed on Easter Sunday after coordinated terror attacks on three churches and three luxury hotels in the Colombo area and eastern city of Batticaloa, injuring hundreds. Based on reports, six foreign police agencies and Interpol, including Scotland Yard from the UK and the FBI from the US, are assisting local police as the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attacks although there has been no public evidence of direct involvement. You may soon not have to stress over going to the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles). They are trying to cut down on the long lines. It seems like no matter what time you go it’s never early enough to beat the hours of waiting in line at the DMV. Well, it seems our prayers for shorter wait times have been answered.
Examiners are now actually being ‘examined’ — meaning they will be measured on how long it takes them to complete each service. The examiners will sit down with their managers to go over their performance.
And that’s the key in making sure long wait times aren’t as long. And it seems to be working already. For example, at one DMV location, the average wait time was 55 minutes last year. Now, with the self-assessments that wait time has been cut down to 23 minutes.
