The other day my cousin texted me just to check in. She made a point of saying, “I’m texting instead of calling, because I’m trying to stay focused on work.” I wasn’t offended. I knew what she meant. Translation: I will not get on the phone with you because I know we’ll talk forever, and I need to stay focused.
I hit her back to say, ‘I get it.’ She’s the cousin who we’ll see each other for the upcoming weekend, but talk on the phone the day before for 5 hours. It’s crazy. It’s like we don’t want the conversation to end.
