Report: Cosmopolitan Hotel Plans To Apologize To Meek Mill
Meek Mill just might be receiving the apology that he wanted from the Cosmopolitan Hotel.
The Las Vegas hotel is reportedly preparing to issue a public apology to the Philadelphia rapper for an incident that took place last weekend, where they didn’t allow him on their premises, and threatened to have him arrested for trespassing, reports TMZ.
TMZ claims that the “Championships” rapper, 32, plans on accepting the apology. Mill posted video footage of his experience with Cosmopolitan staff on his Instagram account and called out the The cosmopolitan hotel .... and it’s a few other hotels that be doing this to black entertainers because they don’t want too many blacks on they property! Although Meek Mill accused the Cosmopolitan of racism and discriminatory practices, the hotel denied it, stating that a pool party at the venue was at capacity, although Meek Mill said that he wasn’t interested in going to that party.
Meek Mill’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, upbraided the hotel’s claim. “The assertion that the Cosmopolitan denied Meek because of capacity concerns at Marquee Dayclub is outright false,” Tacopina said. “In the recorded video, Meek also inquired about getting a meal at one of the hotel’s restaurants, yet their security team continued to deny Meek. [They] said he would be arrested for trespassing regardless of location in the premises. The Cosmopolitan’s conduct continues to be deplorable.”
Tacopina said that there is a long list of black rappers who are banned from the hotel, and TMZ reported that Snoop Dogg and O.J. Simpson both contacted Tacopina to share similar experiences. In 2017, Simpson was permanently banned from the hotel.
Tacopina has vowed to file a lawsuit against the Cosmopolitan.
