Netflix Renews ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Starring Mary J. Blige For Season 2
Good news is in store for fans of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy starring Mary J. Blige.
Netflix has renewed The Umbrella Academy for a second season, reports Deadline.
Mary J. Blige portrays an assassin named Cha Cha on the show and works alongside actors Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min.
The live-action superhero series will be comprised of 10-episodes for its sophomore run. The series is based on Dark Horse Comics created and written by Gerard Way (formerly of the rock band My Chemical Romance) and illustrated by Gabriel Ba.
Production for the Netflix series starts this summer in Toronto. During the second season, Steve Blackman will return as the show’s showrunner and executive producer.
