Apparently, swimming lessons isn’t the only new thing that soul and R&B singer, John Legend is taking up. The 10-time Grammy-Award winner is joining NBC’s The Voice for season 16.

In a promo video released by NBC, The Voice hosts Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Blake Shelton walk out on the show’s set as Clarkson begins discussing John Legend’s Grammy(s), Tony, Emmy, and Oscar awards. Levine then claims that he’s not worried about Legend and or his accolades.
The trio then begin to step on piano keys that are placed on the set floor (a la the classic scene in the 1988 Tom Hanks film Big), and they start playing Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me.” Legend then casually walks up behind them and compliments them on their piano skills. Levine, Clarkson, and Shelton then thank Legend for his admiration. After, Legend then asks the other hosts if he could jump in, and proceeds to upstage the three by gliding across the entire piano with his hands and feet. Clarkson states, “Now I’m worried.”
The father of two and husband to Chrissy Teigen can be seen on the new season of the Voice starting on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 8/7c.
Legend isn’t the only one in his family who has a new venture. On the heels of the singer, songwriter, and producer’s announcement of joining The Voice, his father, Ron Stephens just launched a hat line called Popz Topz. The 69-year-old has been sewing for years, but he didn’t become interested in hats until he started losing hair about 10 years ago. Legend supports his father by wearing the hats at business occasions.
