Thousands Are Currently Without Power In Mecklenburg County
As Tropical Storm Florence continues to move inland, people all across the state of North Carolina are experiencing power outages.
According to WSOCTV, nearly 5,000 people in Mecklenburg County are currently without power.
Statewide, that total is nearing 800,000 power outages.

Undoubtedly, these number are expected to rise.
Yesterday, the catastrophic storm was downgraded from a Category 1 Hurricane to a Tropical Storm, but the downgrade does not mean we are out of the woods.
As heavy wind and rain continue to move into our area, we are facing a flood risk, in addition to the possibility of isolated tornadoes developing.
As winds continue to increase, downed trees are a major concern. Residents are urged to stay off the roadways if possible.
Several flood advisories have already been issued for parts of our area.
