JD Inspiration: Having Quiet Time Means God Time (Audio)
I’m sure you’ve been keeping your ears and eyes open for the latest on Hurricane Florence.
I was doing that myself this morning on the way to work. The phrase I keep hearing though from most meteorologists is “quiet before the storm.” And I don’t know about you, but have you ever noticed that’s some truth in that.
For example, after it snows…if you go outside, it’s too quiet and still. I saw from footage this morning on TV that the ocean seemed so still right before Hurricane Flo brings it. Anyway, that phrase “quiet before the storm” made me remember when I was little, right before a really bad rain storm, with thunder and lightning, my grandma would unplug everything — the refrigerator, TV, oven, the fan. Anything that had a plug, grandma was unplugging it. She’d tell me and my brother to SIT DOWN and BE STILL. The Lord was doing His work.
