Tank and the Bangas Create Magical Notes
Since 2011 Tank and the Bangas have been spreading good-mood-altering music. The funny thing is members of Tank and the Bangas met at a New Orleans open mic show. Back then the Liberation Lounge was the spot for open mics. Singers and musicians can get their big break in various ways, and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all formula for success. However, here are some common strategies that musicians have used to get their break. Tank and the Bangas Band won the 2017 NPR Tiny Desk Contest in November 2019. That big break unfolded a nomination in the Best New Artist category for the 2020 Grammy Awards. DesiVentures scored a $10 ticket to an outdoor concert to see Tarriona “Tank” Ball, the lead vocalist, was worth every penny and more! But under further investigation on Wikipedia, it says Tank and the Bangas performed at the Kennedy Center in 2016. Just check out their official website for Tank and the Bangas, here.
During the summer months, they’ll be on tour and ticket prices vary depending on the venue. Lead singer Tarriona went viral again on social media with her famous voiceover saying, “This Boy Be In My DMS Say I’m Pretty.”
That’s actually a song Tank and the Bangas released in 2019. Tank and the Bangas didn’t let record reps steer them wrong because they honed their natural craft of becoming proficient in their chosen instrument and voice. Just sitting through their jam sessions must be a high like no other as joyful notes whisk by your ears. If you’re a new band you already know that practice makes perfect, and patiently await your big break. Creating original and compelling music is what Tarriona was born for. Her big energy is so sweet and innocent and the lyrics seriously speak to you. If you get a chance to check out Tank and the Bangas, let me know. Big thanks to DesiVentures for capturing this video for us.
