IRS Spent Approximately $700,000 Purchasing Ammunition
Whose fighting here? When did IRS representatives need to be carrying guns? Yes, the IRS spent at least $700,000 from March to June of 2022, purchasing ammunition. Republican representative Matt Gaetz has exposed the the IRS. According to Def Con News, Gaetz, said, “There is concern that this is part of a broader effort to have an entity in the federal government buy up ammo to reduce the amount of ammunition that is in supply.” IRS Special Agents are those employees within the IRS who are authorized to carry and use firearms. The authority to carry and use firearms is derived from United States Code Title 26, Section 7608, wherein criminal investigators of the IRS are authorized to make arrests under Federal law.
