Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson Sworn In As First Black Woman On The Supreme Court

Ketanji Brown Jackson has been sworn in as the 116th Supreme Court Justice Thursday (June 30) making her the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s highest court.
Jackson who was previously a public defender and federal appeals court judge, was sworn in shortly after Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement became official per NBC. Breyer administered the judicial oath for Jackson while Chief Justice John Roberts administered the constitutional oath.
Jackson's nomination was confirmed by the Senate in a 53-47 vote back in April.
