Reid’s Fine Foods Plans $1 Million Ballantyne Store Opening This Fall
A new Reid’s Fine Foods store will take over the old Duckworth’s spot in the Ballantyne Quad shopping center. The $1 million project covers 6,500 square feet at 14015 Conlon Circle, making it their sixth location in the Charlotte area.
Work begins this May in the former restaurant space. Customers will find a full-service meat counter, fresh deli items, baked goods, and a sit-down restaurant. The dining area will seat 100 people inside, plus another 40 on an outdoor patio.
After looking for 18 months, they chose this location near the busy corner of Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Johnston Road. The neighborhood already features 30 restaurants.
Business has grown since mid-2024, with sales expected to jump 5% this year. Selling their east Charlotte headquarters for $4.5 million in 2023 helped fund their expansion plans. Customers will find fresh produce, local goods, and unique gifts. Southwick Architecture + Interiors designed the space, while Charles Thrift handled the lease deal.
The demographics look promising in Ballantyne. About two-thirds of nearby residents have college degrees. A Wegmans will open in the area by 2026.
They currently have stores in SouthPark, Myers Park, and two downtown locations. Their South End spot, The Salted Melon Market & Eatery, won Southern Living’s “Best New Restaurant” award.
The almost 100-year-old business keeps growing. They’re looking at possibly opening new stores in Mooresville or Davidson within two years. Learn more about Reid’s here.
