New Format IKEA Location Set to Open This Week in South Charlotte
Calling all of the home decor lovers, you’re going to love this one! IKEA is opening up another Charlotte location this week and it has everyone ready to do some decorating. This will be the second IKEA location to open up in Charlotte, with the first being the location in University City.
New IKEA Opening in South Charlotte
IKEA South Charlotte will be a new format store and is set to open on Wednesday, October 16. The store is located in the Promenade off of Providence Rd. The new format will be a plan and order point to pick up which differs from the University City location. This location will allow customers the opportunity to meet with employees and really plan out all of their decor so they can order it all at once. You will get the chance to really design and pick out pieces from your kitchen and bedroom to bathrooms and outdoor furniture pieces.
“The goal is simple: bring the IKEA experience closer to our customers,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer for IKEA U.S. The new store setup will allow people to easily place orders and have them delivered where they need to make things easier.
The first IKEA location in North Carolina opened in 2009 when the University City location opened. The traditional format IKEA in the University area is over 350,000 square feet and has everything you can think of. You can look at model homes, room setups, and more all while you explore each level of the store to find what you need. IKEA has everything you can imagine from kitchen appliances to living room decor and bathroom finishes. This location also offers a restaurant and children’s play area you can enjoy while shopping.
