Charlotte Roads Some of the Worst in North Carolina
Did you feel that bump? Yeah, you probably just ran over something. How many times do you think that when driving around Charlotte? Charlotte roads are quite intense between heavy traffic, lanes seem to not be big enough, and the ongoing construction constantly can make driving a nightmare. But, just how bad are the roads in Charlotte? Possibly some of the worst in the state, that’s how bad!
Charlotte Roads Worst in the State
According to a recent study done by Trip, states that roughly 40% of the road conditions in Charlotte are poor or mediocre. And from the amount of driving I do around this city, mediocre is fairly nice. I am always worried about random holes, nails from construction, and so much more when I am behind the wheel.
The Charlotte metro roads were graded with a 23% poor condition which was the worst out of the cities that they studied. For some reason, it’s like the roads never get fixed and we just seem to figure out a way to get by. We swerve when we need to, avoid certain areas, or go so slow because we’re trying to pay attention to everything else going on.
On a brighter note, the city with the best road conditions studied was Asheville, North Carolina. I have only been to Asheville maybe twice and I don’t recall roads being anything crazy. Now, driving in the mountains is certainly a different beast if you are not used to it.
