Best Girls’ Weekend Getaways North Carolina
Nestled among all the spots on the 25 suggestions for best girls’ weekend getaways was none other than the Queen City of Charlotte.
I have nothing against Charlotte. In fact, I rather enjoy living and working here as I have for nearly 20 years. And, maybe I take it for granted for that reason.
I just didn’t expect it to appear surrounded by spots such as Miami, New York City and the Cayman Islands. But apparently, Charlotte hit the mark for a weekend escape with photogenic views and quality spots for girl time.
The article points out Charlotte has a great mix of food and outdoor adventure. After all, we do have the U.S. National Whitewater Center. If it’s good enough for Olympians, it’s good enough for us, right?!
I went when it first opened and enjoyed the rapids, zip lining and stand-up paddleboarding. Plus, the venue hosts yoga and plenty of seasonal events throughout the year.
My Favorite Places In This Best Girls’ Weekend Getaway Spot
And, we certainly know Charlotte is home to an ever-growing list of breweries and spots to grab that perfectly chilled glass of wine. Some of our favorite spots around Charlotte are Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Monday Night Brewing, Dram & Draught and anything at Optimist Hall.
But those are just the tip of the iceberg. And, Charlotte is buzzing with a delicious culinary scene. We love the newly opened Runaway Whiskey & Wine that combines upscale bites with an unforgettable cocktail experience.
The Wagyu burger is amazing. And, it’s perfect to split with a friend to accompany your ‘Bartender’s Choice’ cocktail for a surprise mixology experience.
Plus, on a personal note, if you’re using a designated driver, parking is so easy at this spot away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Parking is a pet peeve of mine!
