This North Carolina Road Will Be Closed Until Mid-February
Recent stormy weather really did a number on local roads. From trees and power lines down to numerous roads shut down to flooding, the recent storm really took a toll on the Carolinas. Now, transportation officials say this North Carolina road will be closed until mid-February.
A section of Shoal Creek Church Road in Cleveland County is shut down so crews can make repairs. That’s just east of Boiling Springs and about 50 miles west of Charlotte. North Carolina Department of Transportation officials say heavy rains washed out a section of roadway and damaged a pipe in the vicinity. Due to the unfortunate events of the recent storm, they will need to be sure the roadway is drivable and safe before allowing cars back onto the road.
Getting around the closure should be easy, thanks to the posted detours that the Department of Transportation has provided to drivers. Drivers will be directed to take Mount Sinai Church Road to NC 18, then back to Shoal Creek Church Road the portion that is not closed down. Repairs are expected to last around four weeks, so let’s hope they can get you back onto the roadway in no time.
