Charlotte Suburb Ranked One Of The Fastest Growing Cities In Country
A city not too far away from the Charlotte metro area has been named one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. Being born and raised in North Carolina, it seems like somebody new is moving here every single day. That’s because they are.
In a recent study, Charlotte Regional Business Alliance found that 113 people moved to the Charlotte region on a daily basis between July 2021 and July 2022, which, it noted, equates to about double the size of the Carolina Panthers’ regular-season roster.
Our country itself isn’t getting bigger, but the population still continues to rise and somehow we still find room. To find where population growth has been most prevalent, SmartAsset examined the most recent U.S. population data across 344 of the largest cities to determine the biggest growth from 2017 to 2022, including shifts between the balance of men and women.
Only one North Carolina city cracked the Top 20 list and it was Concord, North Carolina. SmartAsset reported that Concord’s population in 2017 was 92,072 and in 2022 it was 109,898 which equates to a 19.4% population growth over 5 years.
