Another Series Gone but Never Forgotten
We hate to see our favorite series canceled on TV, The Walking Dead, Martin, to see the shows go is almost as sad as when James died on Good Times.
HBO has just announced winning times. The story of Magic Johnson is being canceled after two seasons.
According to the LA Times, the ratings have been cut in half compared to the last two seasons. The show which featured Los Angeles Lakers great Magic Johnson, highlights the season, the organization of the L.A. Lakers, and rival Larry Bird’s Boston Celtic.
Actor Quincy Isaiah, who portrays Magic Johnson took to his Instagram to thank fans for their support of the show. He said although it was an easy role, he did the best he could.
HBO Max which is now Max, has merged parent companies Warner Media and Discovery which were aimed at cutting the cost and stripping production. Because of the writers’ and actors’ strike, marketing and promotion also were lacking within the company.
The author of the book, Jeff Pearlman took to his Twitter to encourage fans to go and watch season 2, in hopes of gaining supporters through social media.
Director Salli Richardson posted on her Instagram with a caption of her lying in the Lakers locker room.
There is one person who isn’t upset about the cancellation of the show. Laker great Magic Johnson spoke to a reporter at The Elizabeth Tylor Ball to End AIDS, saying that he never watched it because it was a fictional show. Magic also stated, “ Nobody in this world can tell the Laker Story like it needs to be told. The Showtime story? Nobody! Dr. Buss was way ahead of his time as an owner. Our team? Unbelievable! The Laker Girls with Paula Abdul? Unbelievable! Nobody can tell that story.”
