Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty On House Arrest After Offset Threat
Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty has been ordered on house arrest after threatening Offset over the weekend. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Petty has been ordered to home detention for up to 120 days. The court documents state that he violated his federal probation by “making threatening remarks while in the company of someone with a criminal record.”
Over the weekend, Petty posted a video on Instagram showing himself and two friends standing outside a hotel room at a New York City hotel where Offset was allegedly staying.
“Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral p—-!” Petty is heard saying in the video.
In a video posted to Offset’s social media, the rapper brushed off his threat. “I’m getting off a jet, he’s funny,” Offset said per a repost of the video on Baller Alert.
Legal reporter Meghann Cuniff tweeted about the case writing, “Here’s a key line: ‘The supervisee and defense counsel consent to modification and waive a personal appearance before the Court.’ That means Petty didn’t even try to fight this.”
She continued: “Probation officer and judge did not need an outside report/complaint to act on this. @OffsetYRN and @iamcardib didn’t even seem to care – Offset LOL’d about it in a video as he walked off a jet, I think while going to say hey to Deion Sanders at the Colorado game.”
Ken Barbie, known to back up Cardi on social media, responded to Cuniff’s tweet. “THANK YOU! Because they’re trying to flip the narrative like this man didn’t do what he did on Instagram and tag every blog in it. Be mad at him and HIS friends,” they tweeted.
Cardi responded to Ken Barbie’s tweet, “EXACTLY KEEP ME AND MY MANS OUT YALL F—– MOUTH!!!”
This is not the first time Petty has had legal trouble. He was sentenced to three years probation in July 2022. Petty pleaded guilty after failing to register as a sex offender in California two years prior. He and Minaj moved to California from New York, where he was initially registered. In 1995, Petty was convicted of the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. He spent four years in prison in New York.
Nicki Minaj nor her husband Kenneth Petty have not publicly addressed the recent incident.
