Well Known Comedian Brings National Home Renovation Show To This Tiny North Carolina Town
No matter how famous our favorite celebrities get, there’s always a story about how they got their start. And, more often than not many come from humble beginnings. That is the case with one of our favorite comedians, JB Smoove. And, a CBS series called “Secret Celebrity Renovation” gives stars like JB a chance to gift a surprise home renovation to someone who played an important role in their life and subsequent success. Well, it turns out JB Smoove calls the tiny town of Plymouth, North Carolina home. So, on this episode JB Smoove renovates the North Carolina home that once belonged to his grandmother, who called him “Happy Jack.”
Also, JB shares with host Nischelle Turner that although he moved away from Plymouth when he was 6 he returned every summer until his teens. And, his grandmother Ernestine’s home was his home base. However, after she passed away the home sat empty. Therefore, he now refers to the house as “unlivable.” And, that’s why he wants to bring the “Secret Celebrity Renovation” team to tiny little Plymouth, North Carolina. His hope is that maybe they can bring the home back to a livable state. And, he says that would make his grandmother “ecstatic.” He even jokes that one day they might stick a marker in the yard that reads, “JB was born here.”
And, I can’t wait to watch this episode where JB Smoove renovates this North Carolina home. We first fell in love with JB Smoove when he became a regular character on “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” That show and his character rank among our top 3 funniest. If you haven’t seen it, you must. Granted, there’s salty situations and language. But, it’s laugh out loud hilarity.
