Charlotte Earns Spot Among Cities With The Cutest Small Dogs
Every dog breed possesses its own unique charm. Encountering an adorable dog during your day can instantly uplift the mood of some people. Fortunately, you don’t have to rely on chance encounters with charming pups on the streets. Many dog parents take delight in sharing pictures of their furry friends on social media, allowing everyone to relish their cuteness.
Mixbook, a photography company, has not only a passion for photography but love for dogs. They wanted to see which U.S. cities have more adorable canines than others. They formed a panel of devoted dog-loving judges to determine which cities have the cutest pups. Their task was to blindly evaluate sets of dog photos from the 25 most populous U.S. cities and ten international cities. Each photo was accompanied by a city-specific hashtag, usually something like #DogsIn[City Name]. The judges rated the photos based on five distinct characteristics: overall cuteness, cuteness of small dogs, cuteness of big dogs, cuteness of haircuts, and cuteness of faces. The individual scores the judges gave were then averaged to produce the final rankings.
Cities with the cutest dogs
The study found that the cities with the most adorable dogs are Oklahoma City, Seattle, and Indianapolis within the United States. On the international front, Amsterdam, Bangkok, and Barcelona are home to the cutest dogs. Interestingly, the study also found that Seattle, Boston, and Washington, D.C. have the highest number of dog parents posting photos of their beloved furry companions on social media.
Since dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds, their team was curious to know where people could find the cutest small dogs. The fluffy coat of a Shih Tzu, the adorable squishy face of a Pug, and the confident strut of a Pomeranian are just a few of the features that make small dogs irresistibly cute.
Charlotte stands out as one of the cities with the cutest small dogs. The top four cities with the cutest small dogs include Chicago at number one, Los Angeles, New Your City, and Charlotte at number 4. The city also made it onto their list of cities with the best-groomed dogs at number 4.

Fastest Dogs In The World
Imagine walking your lovable dog down your favorite stretch of road, when a car alarm suddenly catches your attention. In the second it takes to glance at the commotion, your furry best friend jolts, yanking the leash from your hand. By the time you turn around and begin to run, the dog is already halfway down the block, and you realize you may need a bike or even a car to catch up, depending on the breed.
This scenario can be nightmare fuel for some, but it’s a common occurrence experienced by almost all pet owners at some point. This makes it all the more important to understand a dog’s breed before taking on the responsibility of caring for and training a canine friend.
Often, dogs that can run at high speeds were originally bred for hunting and herding purposes, including the Border Collie and Anatolian Shepherd, which both excel at agility and speed, and require vigorous exercise to expend their extra energy.
Consider this: The top speed a human has reached is 27.5 miles per hour, achieved by Olympian Usain Bolt during his record-breaking 100-meter sprint in 2009. That’s about the minimum speed for a dog to even make this list—we begin with the Boston terrier, with a top speed of 25 miles per hour, and end with the famous running breed the greyhound, with a top speed of 45 miles per hour. These dogs can run flat out for longer than humans, to boot.
Stacker ranked 23 dog breeds by top speed, using data from the American Kennel Club, Vetstreet, and World’s Fastest Dogs, to help better understand your energetic companion.
