I was never really into Legos - I'm really not much of a builder of that sort. But I had no idea that Legos are becoming a national trend -- for thieves!  Police in Hickory may know. They are currently looking for a man who stole $2,000 worth of Legos from a Target store.

Security cameras caught the suspect leaving Target with two carts -- one filled with Legos and the other with a selection of various toys.

If you are thinking what I’m thinking then you are probably asking WHY Legos??  Out of everything inside of a large department store, why these colorful plastic toy building blocks? Well apparently, Legos are being resold on sites like Facebook marketplace, The Plastic BRICK, Brick Link and Beyond the Brick for HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars!

Unopened Star Wars Lego sets are starting at $450 and reach prices up to $123,000 for rare sets! Frequently bought rare sets include Star Wars, cosmic cardboard adventures and Pokémon.

And the fans of Legos are committed. This Washington State man has transformed his entire home/office into a Lego Land.

As of this writing, Hickory detectives have not identified the thief or released any further information. Anyone with information is asked to call Hickory police at 828-328-5551.
