Chlöe Bailey Receives Backlash Over Chris Brown Feature
Chlöe Bailey is under fire for her most recent collaboration. On Thursday (Feb. 17), the singer announced the second single from her highly anticipated debut album In Pieces. The new track, “How Does It Feel,” features controversial R&B singer Chris Brown. In the cover art, Brown is seen holding Bailey while they stare into each other’s eyes.
Twitter had a field day once it was announced that Chris Brown would be the feature on the track and immediately condemned the “Have Mercy” singer for not making a better choice.
“Before y’all start, Chloe had options. PLENTY to choose from other than Chris Brown,” one user wrote. He included a long list of artists such as: Luke James, Bryson Tiller, Lucky Daye, Khalid, Giveon, Berwyn, Samm Henshaw, Venna, Tay Iwar, Jvck James, Reggie Becton, Brent Faiyaz, PJ Morton, Leon Bridges.”
“This was a choice. A CHOICE.,” he concluded his point.
“The Chr*s Brown industrial complex is working overtime because his music has been s— for years (on top of being an abuser with anger issues) and then women like Normani and Chloe are doing redemptive work for him whether they meant to or not,” another user said, adding that R&B singer Normani was under fire last year for playing the romantic lead in his song
Chlöe nor Chris have commented about the backlash. “How Does It Feel” will be released next Friday (Feb. 24). In Pieces does not have an official release date but is set to drop sometime in March.
